Pricing and limits
Understand sustained RPS, one-second burst capacity, RPM, and what happens at the limit.
BlockNode uses monthly project plans with clear request capacity. Plans include a sustained requests-per-second rate, 20% burst capacity for a single second, and a requests-per-minute limit.

The paid plans work out to $2 per sustained RPS. Payment is handled monthly through Stripe, and each project has its own plan.
How the rate limits work
The 1-second burst is 20% above the plan's sustained RPS. It gives a short spike room without changing the amount of traffic the project can make across a minute.
For example, a Hobby plan supports 5 sustained requests per second and can briefly accept 6 requests in a single second. The workload still needs to fit within 300 requests per minute. Sending 6 requests every second for a full minute would total 360 requests, so that continuous pattern would exceed the RPM limit.
Think of sustained RPS as the normal pace, the 1-second burst as short headroom, and RPM as the minute-level guardrail.
What happens at the limit?
If a project exceeds its configured requests-per-second or requests-per-minute capacity, the request returns an error. BlockNode does not calculate surprise usage charges and does not add an overage invoice.
This makes capacity planning explicit: choose the plan you want, monitor your workload, and move to a larger plan when you need more room.
Regional beta capacity
During the initial beta, paid capacity is capped independently in each region. When the sustained RPS committed by paid projects would exceed a region's configured maximum, new paid projects and paid plan upgrades in that region are paused with the current capacity message. Hobby projects remain available, and accounts can still be created for the waitlist while more capacity is added.
Changing a plan
Workspace members with billing permission can update a project's plan from the dashboard. The project overview keeps the current plan, limits, and billing status visible.
